when i lived out in Cali, both travel and my job would take me past Malibu (and other neighborhoods) where i envied certain people their wealth. i wished i had their cash-flow, envied them their picturesque mansions, but was also aware that i wanted not one bit their debt and liability, and knew that if we ever had such a house, the kids would have it in just as much disarray as the small home we lived in at the time. i’ve never been hugely financially successful, and i admit that my future-planning of days long past was anything but ’spot-on’, but even way back when i once long ago voted repugnikken, i never would have miscalculated that just because some people in Malibu are wealthier than most, they hate America and deserve to have their homes burned to the ground.

ah, the joyful wonders of nature’s very own ’shock and awe’, eh, Glenn? i’m sure these families were plotting to blow up a bridge somewhere, and when the fire reached their homes, the hidden explosives in the basement made things much worse. right?

aw, what the fuck happened here, Glenn? i guess Aaaaarnold didn’t get the message about all these America-hatin’ ter’ists in his back yard. he seems to think the fire is a bad thing. damn ‘phony governor’, huh?

my eight-year-old daughter, whom i quote, “that’s gotta be really scary losing everything you’ve ever known,” while prone to making gross understatements, has far more insight than you.
