Sunspots through the haze and pall of the Simi Valley Fire, 2003

I don’t have time for this. I’m doing an incredibly sucky job of even keeping up with this weekly, and what I wind up posting is hardly worth coming by for once a week. It’s just not right to be linked from such greats as Mock, Paper, Scissors, d r i f t g l a s s, and so many others in my blogrolls, and yet post so very little of my own. So, I’m going to take a break for a bit and get through some of what’s going on, which is, in the interest of full disclosure:

  1. Finishing up processing on my last weddings. I have none scheduled for next year. I doubt I will get back into wedding photography, despite the fact that I will miss it a lot. I need to take care of these people, and I’m behind. Thanksgiving looms, and they don’t have their photos. Not cool. Any competent PhotoShoppers who’d like to earn a little bit of cash on quick-turn processing should contact me. Seriously.
  2. A really hectic production cycle at work. This is the problem working for a rapid-cycle development group: we’re pushing builds to our Development environments several times per week, with several programs working concurrently. I haven’t had a work-week less than 50 hours since May.
  3. My son and I test this weekend for Level 2 Instructor certification for ITA TaeKwonDo. At which point, we will HAVE to put in a minimum of 5 class-hours per week. This sounds arbitrary, but it’s not really. This directly relates to Commander Other’s retirement path.

I am hoping to re-join the land of the living bloggers by the inauguration of our new president, but I can’t make promises at this point. The bottom line is, I simply don’t have time to do this right now, and my inability to keep up, I think, is dishonorable to those who’ve been so gracious as to link to me.

I read your blog in reader most times so I had not seen the new layout. you seem to be able to do wonderful things with the design of your webpage. I have to stick to the shitty and free blogger templates so I don’t have a cool looking blog like you.

Come back when you are read, you will be embraced with open arms. I wonder what other kind of arms there are for embracing, actually.

Wow work sounds way too hectic right now.

I can relate how hard it is to do weddings with a full-time job and family life and I only do the regular 36!

Keep you’re quality time with your son - your blog can wait :-)

LOL, Tengrain: “Come back when you are read”….If that’s a typo, thank you. If it’s not a typo, it’s appropriate, and stands as part of the reason why even trying to keep up with this makes not much sense.Three people noticed this post in the space of 24 hours. I’m terribly useful up here, LOL….

Take some time off and take care of things. I’m finding it harder to blog because, well, things are in flux and I don’t know what to think. Besides, the holidays are coming up and life is busy now. I’ll be back when you are.

Don’t sweat it, Commander. We may play in cyberspace, but we still have to live in meatspace.

Take as long as you need, but in the interim, you will be missed.

No worries, it happens to everyone. Well, not everyone. I think Big Three CEOs have time to knock out a post while flying around in the company jet.

You haven’t tought of a jet as a solution have you. I hear Sarah’s jet might be available again. Look under “collectibles” on eBay.
