I don’t know why, but this song has been stuck in my head in a way for the past three days that songs haven’t gotten stuck in a long, long time. If you were watching my lists on LastFM, you’d think there was something seriously screwed up with me, and there probably is. On the other hand, only like three people have ever looked at my LastFM page, so I’m not terribly worried about what they think.

Anyway, as one small step above not dialing it in at all, I offer the following mode of dialing it in. So you can get it stuck in your head, too.

Siouxsie was my first real musical infatuation, and her lyrics inspired a lot of my own poetry as a youth. As a percussionist, I always admired Budgie, too, despite secretly wanting to haul his ass off somewhere and beat the shit out of him then run away with Siouxsie. Ah….youth….

The happily-married commander other politely refuses to call Siouxsie-of-today a “MILF”, but….gah….”aged well” doesn’t quite cover it.

A hearty Happy Birthday goes out today to the one I affectionately call “Ancient One” (even though she’s younger than yours truly), the Texas Tornado, the gal who was lucky enough to have her first kiss from Commander Other long before he was an Other….Sherri!

Congratulations on maundering through another year, Ancient One! We hope you can still find your glasses and fit your ass into your jeans. We’re right damned proud of you in many otherwhirledly ways.

And….uh….don’t tell your husband, but your tongue….is missed. It’s one of the few happy memories Commander Other has of that particular point in his life.
